Welcome To The Ashtabula County Medical Center Wellness Site Ashtabula County Medical Center received a grant in 2007 from the Greater Cleveland Healthcare Association to establish an Employee
Wellness Program. This Wellness Program has encouraged all employees,
along with their family and friends, to seek a healthier life-style . We
encourage all employees to join and participate in the programs offered
to them. When we work on these programs together, it makes it so much
more fun and productive.

If you didn't get the opportunity to join this Spring Contest, We will have another one in the Fall. Shape Up & Go! is a fun 12-week, team-based fitness, pedometer steps, and/or weight loss competition for ACMC employees. You are invited to form a team of coworkers and compete with other teams to exercise the most hours, lose the most weight, and/or walk the most steps. Shape Up & Go! is designed for employees of all fitness levels. We’ll provide you with tools and resources to easily set goals, track your progress, and motivate your coworkers. Included with the program...Participants new to Shape Up & Go! will receive an Omron pedometer for tracking steps. While returning participants will enjoy a choice of either a pedometer, an online healthy eating program called "Go! Foods for You", or a Shape Up & Go t-shirt. All participants will receive and have access to... • Printed competition logbook • Online team tracker system and nutrition tracker • Weekly exercise and nutrition tips These features are all included in the $10 registration fee. Are you ready to begin making healthy lifestyle changes? Recruit Your Team (Individuals can sign up too!) Team captains register online at www.shapeupandgo.org beginning Monday, May 3 and use our online system to recruit a team (5-11 members including the team captain). Captains will lead their teams in the 12-week challenge to increase physical activity, lose weight, and eat healthier. Registration ends Friday, May 14. 2. Get Ready To Compete: The company-wide competition begins on Monday, May 24. Sign up online and your pedometer with leash,and printed logbook will be delivered to your home. 3. Get Set To Move: Teams may choose to compete in one, two, or all three competition divisions. Results will be based onaverage weight loss per team member, average hours of total exercise per team member, and average totalpedometer steps per person on the team. Each division will have its own separate team standings. 4. Go! Employees will record their daily progress online or in the printed logbook. Team standings will be published online every two weeks. To protect your privacy, if you choose to participate in the weight loss division, no other participant will ever be able to see your individual weight. 5. Make 2010 the Year you become Healthier: Join Premier Fitness! As an ACMC employee, you are eligible to join for a much reduced rate! You may stop in at the Fitness club any time and register with your employee ID badge. The Wellness Department also has forms on the 3rd floor of the Lewis building. You will receive an orientation of the machines and a tour of the facility. You can use the exercise time, pedometer steps and weight loss for the new Shape Up & Go! program . *If you are an ACMC employee and a member of Premiere, you may also use the Cardiac Rehab facility when there are no patients.
