About Us

The Mission of Ashtabula County Medical Center's Employee Health for Life Program is to empower employees and their families with the tools, opportunities, and environment, to make consistent health choices for the long-term. ACMC is committed to providing high-quality, effective programs for our employees to strive to improve the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of the organization's most valuable resource: our people.

In 2007, a committee was formed of several ACMC employees to apply for a 3 year grant offered by the Northeast Ohio Healthy Hospital Workforce Program through the Greater Cleveland Healthcare Association to develop an employee wellness program at ACMC.

Our Employee Wellness Program began in 2007 with the grant awarded to our hospital secured by Jim Pierce-Ruhland, director of Physical Therapy. Kathy Chiacchiero RN, was hired in September of 2007 as the Employee Wellness Coordinator.

Our Employee Wellness Program is named Health for Life. We intend to bring many educational and inspiring programs to our employees and the Community in our quest for better health.

In October of 2009, ACMC purchased Premiere Fitness. We became the first Integrated Medical and Fitness Center in the area.  ACMC and Premiere offers a medical-based approach to health and wellness and a comprehensive approach to help members lead a healthier lifestyle.
